What Is The Flesh Colored Growth From My Vagina?

Hi, so after having sex for the first time I noticed an extra piece of skin hanging out of my vagina. Two years have now passed by and it s still there except that tonight I noticed it turning black at the tip of the hanging piece of skin, is it infected?

Hello,

What you are noticing is a part of the hymenal ring. This is a thin rim of skin at the vaginal opening that commonly is slightly torn with initiation of sexual activity.

Some of the torn portions might very well be seen as an extra piece of skin hanging at the opening. When it gets traumatized with future sexual activity, it can bleed into itself and appear bruised. This is not a sign of infection.

I would recommend going to an OB/GYN who can look at it and likely remove the excess skin without much pain.
