What Is The Cure For Bullus Pemphigoid?
Hi Dr.s I am a 75 year old female and have been told through blood tests etc that I have Bullus Pemphigoid. What might be a cure and what is my future. Many members of my family have serious arthritis issues. Is this down the road for me or what can you tell me about this disease and how did I get it? My family Dr. ,an Internest said she sees it a lot in older people in nursing homes etc. Thank you for your concern.

Bullous Pemphigoid is an autoimmune disease and it is common in old age females. In this disease bullae are formed on skin and inside the mouth which are slightly painful.
But there is no need to worry as there are medications like steroids for the disease which will help in healing of the lesion, and it is also a self healing disease.
Better keep in touch with your dermatologist.

Bullous pemphigoid is an auto immune disease usually seen in old age, and not related to the cancer.
May occur secondary to the exposure of ultraviolet rays,or radiation.
Drugs like furosemide,ibuprofen,nsaids,and some antibiotics.
Treatment-local steroid like clobetasol,systemic prednisol,methotrexate, tetracycline, and erythromycin may be used for complete cure.
It may be automatcally subsided with out any treatment to people with good resistance.
