What Is The Cure For Hemiplegic Migraines?

I have been dignosed with Hemiplegic Migraines, the attack started Friday at 6pm, repeated on Saturday midday and it is Monday and I still have the headache. i am on sertriline for profilactic as nothing elste seemed to work. I went to urgent care yetsterday as i have nothing for pain and was giving a barbituate/asprine combo (there is another med, but I dont remember what it is called, when I take two of them it takes away the pain but makes me loopy, running into walls, etc, or I sleep... wondering at what point I should go to the ER for a CT scan.

Hi
Thanks for choosing healthcare magic

If your are not getting relief with sertraline, then try tricyclic antidepressant like amitriptyline along with beta blocker like propranalol. That would help to decrease the frequency of attack. In severe migraine attack, you can take sumstriptan or any painkiller. Rest you can consult a physician for proper evaluation and management.

Thanks
