Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

It may depend upon the severity of anemia. Mild to moderate anemia we calculate the iron deficit from the formula of Required iron dose (mg) = (2.4 × (target Hb-actual Hb) × weight (kg)) + 1000 mg for replenishment of stores.

According to it we give deficit iron injection 100 mg iv twice a week. In severe anemia or anemia of CKD or dialysis patients we may give upto 200 mg twice a week.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
