What Is The Cause Of Weakness, tremors, poor Concentration, fluid Retention And Fast Heart Rate?

I suffer from severe weakness in my legs and arms (often collapse, had problems with passing out that were improved a bit with beta blocker), pressure in my head, tremors, fatigue/low energy/lethargic, inability to think clearly/concentrate. I retain fluid (face, hands and legs), have gained about 25 lbs. They can t figure out what s wrong. It s been 3 years of this and I m slowly getting worse. I don t know what to do. I m tired of being sick all of the time. By 7-8 pm, I m so exhausted that I can t stay awake. I ll fall asleep wherever I am, like someone turns off my power switch. I sleep like I m a zombie until 3-4 am when I wake, shaking/tremors, sometimes fast heart rates and sometimes so weak that I cannot lift my arms or legs. They say my blood work is normal... I was fired from my job because I kept fainting and collapsing.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there,

From what you are describing, it might be related to metabolic diseases:
- diabetes
- thyroid problems
and cardiac issues.
Apart blood work, further tests are needed:
- diabetes testing
- thyroid function tests
- EKG,
- cardiac echo
- Holter monitoring

Depending on the tests results, specific treatment will be prescribed.

Meanwhile, I advise to:
- have your meals regularly
- take multivitamin supplements (containing vit.B complex, C, Calcium, etc.)
- do not sleep late at night
- eat healthy
- do more physical activity
- avoid coffee or energetic drinks especially in the afternoon

Hope it helped!
