What Is The Cause Of Ear Infection Being A Music Teacher?

Hi I am a 56 year old music teacher and spend my whole day playing either a saxophone, flute or clarinet with my students. I take a four five piece concert band for rehearsals and two jazz bands of 18 students. I am currently experiencing my second infection in both ears and have fluid in both ears affecting my hearing. Such I be working or such I give my I ears a rest from their daily noise of my music students. Thanks Cheryl

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello

Dont worry, the infection is not related to your sound exposure but it is likely that you are having fluid in your ear due to blowing of instruments, which increases the pressure in the upper airway and may push the infection or fluid into your ear.
Please meet your ent doctor , he will examine you and prescribe some nasal drops, which will help relieve the fluid in your ear.
Thanks
