What Is The Cause Of Dizziness When On Hydroxyzine?

I was told that hydroxyzine was an antibiotic to be used with hydrocodone after a recent surgery. I haven t seen anything that says it is an antibiotic. I stopped both drugs, because I was so dizzy and seeing/talking to people that weren t there. Is it ok to discontinue taking the drugs?

HI THANKS FOR POSTING YOUR QUERY ON HEALTHCARE MAGIC.
GOING BY YOUR HISTORY ,I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU THAT BOTH HYDROXYZINE AND HYDROCODONE ARE NOT GROUP OF DRUGS WHICH BELONG TO ANTIBIOTICS.HYDROXYZINE IS AN FIRST GENERATION ANTIHISTAMINIC.ALL FIRST GENERATION DRUGS ARE KNOWN TO CAUSE DIZZINESS AS THEIR PRELIMINARY SIDE EFFECT.ALSO THEY HAVE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE DRY MOUTH,URINE RETENTION,CONSTIPATION,SEDATION ,WHICH ARE COLLECTIVELY REFERRED TO AS "ANTICHOLINERGIC" SYMPTOMS.HYDROCODONE IS AN OPIOID ANALGESIC KNOWN FOR ABUSE LIABILITY.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU TO STOP BOTH DRUGS IMMEDIATELY .SUBSTITUTE THEM WITH SECOND GENERATION DRUGS LIKE LEVOCETRIZINE AND NON OPIOIDS LIKE DICLOFENAC SODIUM.BOTH OF WHICH ARE RELATIVELY FREE OF SIDE EFFECTS.CONSULT YOUR FAMILY DOCTOR FOR FURTHER QUERIES.
THANK YOU.
TAKE CARE.
