General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The dark stool is usually related to bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract, usually stomach.

An endoscopy is needed to confirm the diagnosis.

I also recommend doing a complete blood count and a stool test for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
