Hello, my husband has been having blood in his stool for some months now and is wondering what this could mean, he thinks piles or hemorroids but I am worried it could be something more serious, Mrs XXXXX

Yes it is possible that he may have piles if the blood as you say which is coming out is red / fresh and not black,but the important thing here is an examination of your husband called proctoscopy by a qualified surgeon. It will help in ruling out other serious conditions like cancer.
