hi
any disease has the side effect of altering the taste. The drugs that one takes for a disease has again to some extent the side effect of altering the taste. An upper respiratory cold/allergy alters the taste more. As the doctor has told after examination that you cords look good so there is nothing to worry in this case. And mucus that you are talking about definitely may take time to resolve. The altered taste and mucus both will go off with time. Thus in my opinion there is nothing to worry about yet in such a case.
