What is the cause for heart rate to increase after an mitral valve replacement ?

my husband recently operated redo mitral valve replacement and he recover but after fifteen days suddenly his heart rate went high so doctor adviced him dilzem30 for that

as your cardiologist has evaluated your husband and adviced him a tablet let him continue the treatment apart from the tablet if the heart rate is not under control you can discuss with your cardiologist regarding an automated pacing device for maintaining the cardiac rate in the normal heart rate range.
