Im a dental specialist, i saw your quiery regarding salivary gland blockage which in turn is causing your face and neck to swell, especially after eating food. My opinion regarding your symptoms suggest of salivary calculi, which inturn causes blocking of saliva in the duct system. You have not mentioned of any investigation especially radiographs. Right now you could take medicine for pain relief and if any inflammation, as your doctor has suggested,followed by radiographs like rotated pa view if parotid gland is involved, and occlusal radiographs for submandibular gland.
