As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of swelling and itching over the body with red spots can be due to causes like Contact Dermatitis caused by some skin cosmetics, detergents,poison ivy, leather,latex etc.. It can also be due to allergic reaction to certain medication and foods.. It can also be due to hair follicle infection or folliculitis.. I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like blood tests to check for allergies and infection can be done to rule out the exact cause and treatment can be done accordingly.. In case of allergic reaction He can advise you to take anti allergics like Levocetrizine or Allegra along with steroid ointments to be applied over the red bumps.. Doing cool compresses can help.. He can also be instilled an Immunotherapy that will help in reducing the severity and frequency of allergic attack.. Once the allergen is ruled out avoiding exposure to it can prevent the allergy symptoms.. In case of hair follicle infection oral and topical antibiotics and steroids can be advised..
