What Is The Cause And Remedy For Blood In Stools ?

I had blood in the motion. I was initially suffering from fissure and got treatment for it and it got completely cured about 2 weeks back. Suddenly I encountered blood today while passing motion, though there is no visible wound/ skin protrusion as in case of fissure. As I am away from my doctor , I cannot physically go to him. Can you suggest the reason for this and how it can be cured?

Hi there,
Was it just streaks of blood in the motion or was there a splash of blood ?
The main thing to do in fissures is to keep your stools soft. This can be done by drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Oats( as a porridge ) is good as it is loaded with fibre and helps in good bowel movements. You could try soaking dry raisins in a glass of drinking water overnight and drink the raisin soaked water along with the raisins first thing in the morning after waking up. For a short period , if required, you could take Isabgol (powdered husk to be mixed with drinking water and consumed immediately). Another option is apply vaseline(petroleum jelly) around the anal region. See if it gets better in a day or two, if not please visit your physician at the earliest.

hi,
welcome to hcm
generally fissures are due to constipation which tears the anal lining. if you are suffering from constipation problem then follow some simple measures like-
-have lot of fluid
-high fiber diet.lot of vegetables,fruits
-husk
-daily exercise
it may take some weeks to heal completely.
it may be due to some other causes like inflammatory bowel conditions, some vitamin deficiencies , weight loss.you can add some multi vitamins daily.
for time being sitz bath and local anesthetic jelly will relieve the pain.but again consult your doctor and rule out other possible causes.take care
