What Is The Brown Colored Leaking From The Incision Made For Lumpectomy A Month Ago?
I had a lumpectomy a month ago which turned out to be benign. I went to my doctor on Friday due to my incision looking a little red. The nurse put me on antibiotics which I have been on for 5 days now. I went back into the doctor on Monday due to an open part in my incision leaking a orange/red and brown color. My doctor is keeping an eye on it ( Which I have full trust in him and his care) I am just wondering exactly what it is that is leaking and if it is dangerous. Let me clarify one thing, the actual incision which is about 1.5 inches long is not open, there is just a small section that just didn't want to close properly ( Which is were the leaking is coming out)
I have studied your case. It can be residual material from lump . Another possibility of infection can be there. If till some dressing wound becomes dry then nothing to concern about it. IF discharge remains persistent and fever, redness appear then you need attention.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
