What Is The Brown Color In Urine During Pregnancy?

Hi,. .i found out i was pregnant a few months ago. two weeks ago i had to go to the emergency room because i was bleeding and had some pain. A urine test an blood hormone test both came back positive that i am pregnant. The doctor told me to stay on bed rest for a few days and to start taking prenatal.Two days after going to the doctor i stopped bleeding completely. I haven t been to my doctor but i still have all the signs of pregnancy. This last week i noticed that i have brown in my urine. . what should i do dose that mean i am no longer pregnant.

Hallow Madam,

Was brown colour to the urine deep or amber? The medicines you are taking contains riboflavin which can give the urine deep yellow colour. If you are not drinking sufficient water, the concentrated urine may give such colour to urine. Drink plenty of water.

The best option is to get urine examined in the laboratory for microscopic examination. It will reveal if there is any abnormality in the urine.

Coloured urine does not mean that you are not pregnant.

To know the safety of the pregnancy, please get ultrasonography done. Foetal heart activities confirm the integrity of the pregnancy.

And lastly, are you sure that brown discharge is not from the vagina? If it is from vagina, you have to get ultrasonography done. Brown vaginal discharge during any stage of pregnancy denotes risk to the life of the baby or non-viable baby. Urine pregnancy test will hot help to diagnose it as it takes more than a week for urine test to become negative after the baby has become nonviable. Ultrasonography is the best investigation for this.
