What Is The Alternative For Prednisone?

I was diagnosed with bird shot 2 years ago and take prednisone after each attack. presently gradually reducing from 60 mlg prednisone 3 months ago to present 4 mg a day. Dropping 1 mg a month now so hoping not to become depressed when I finish this course. Any better solution than taking prednisone. also on anti inflamitarory diet as much as possible.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are diagnosed with bird shot choroidoretinopathy and he is on treatment with prednisolone.
Prednisolone is a steroid drug and is used to treat inflammatory conditions. Since you are having side effects of steroids like depression, you can go for steroid sparing drugs.
The normally used steroid sparing drugs are non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and anti metabolites.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for prescription of drugs depending on your need.

Thank you
