What Is The Basal Body Temperature For Determining Low Function Of Thyroid?

I am just interested to know about Basal Body Temperature for determining low function of your thyroid. Other symptoms Lack of concentration, feels cold when outside temp is very warm, eczema, short temp memory loss, always fatigue. From a blood test TSH 2.6 and just recently TSH of 3.2, from what I am reading the normal ranges of TSH is very broad. Here in Australian the upper limit is 4.0, but I have read, that the range should be tightened to upper limit of 2.5 Can I have some comments?

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

It will be a pleasure to give you some more information regarding to TSH ranges.
You are right, there are some different ranges of TSH. In women who try to conceive the upper limit of TSH is 2.5.
During pregnancy the ranges vary depending on the trimester of pregnancy.
In elderly people (>70 years old) The upper limit is higher ( up to 7 mUI/ml).
If your last TSH level is 3.2 and you are not in one of the above mentioned categories than it is considered normal and treatment is not started.
Anyway you have to check the FT4 and FT3 level to judge better for the thyroid function.
Hope i was helpful. Feel free to ask if you have further queries.

Kind regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
