Home remedies dont have much effect in case of arthritis. Knee pains at that age are usually due to osteoarthritis, which is a chronic progressive disease. There are some medicines which slow the progress of this condition, which she will have to take indefinitely. An orthopedician can prescribe them.

ANALGESIC GEL LIKE VOVERAN,VOLINI GEL MASSAGE. KNEE CUFF. PARACETAMOL OR DICLOFENAC TABLETS( WITH ANTACID IF NEEDED) AND JOINT REST. HOT COMPRESS. PHYSIOTHERAPY----ALL THESE ARE BENEFICIAL. IF NOTHING HELPS--THEN JOINT REPLACEMENT.
