What Is Causing Pressure In The Upper Left Abdomen?
my boyfriend is experiencing a strange pressure in his upper left abdomen behind the ribcage. He is not experiencing any pain. It was more towards his left side a few weeks ago, but now is in the upper abdomen. Any suggestions as to what could be causing it? He is 44 years old.

Such symptoms usually occur in a patient with colitis ( inflammation of large bowel).
A course of an antibiotic with metronidazole may give him complete relief in 5 to 7 days.
IF here is no relief, it is advisable to undergo colonoscopy and ultrasonography on a safer side as also blood and stool tests.
A proper diagnosis is very important as one can get proper treatment.
