What Is Causing Headaches Following Concussion?

My son had a concussion 4 weeks ago He was beaten by a group of kids & was knocked unconscious. As of yesterday he is having reallly bad headaches. they start in the back of the head & go up to the top of head & above the ears & into his jaw. What can he take & is this serious to have another ct or mri done

I can understand your concern.
Some degree of headache is common after head injury.
But severe excruciating headache after head injury can be due to delayed subarachanoid heamorrhage.
So better to get done repeat CT scan to rule out any delayed complications.
If repeat CT scan is normal then no need to worry much.
Give him painkiller, ice pack application and anti inflammatory drugs.
Don't worry, he will be alright.
