What Is Rosuvastatin Calcium Prescribed For?

My parents are immigrants and live in a different city from me, so I am looking for some insight on a recent appointment my father had, and they are unable to explain to me what is going on. My father recently had a MRI or CT scan (not sure which or if it matters). They told him they saw a spot on his lungs. They then prescribed him Rosuvastapin Calcium and told him to take it for a month and come in for another scan. Can you explain what the correlation might be between the spot on the lungs and that medication?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
There is no relation between rosuvastatin and lung spot. Rosuvastatin is used for treatment of raised blood cholesterol. It has nothing to do with lung condition.
What type of spot seen is not clear with the information you have provided. Has your father done lipid profile of blood?? What was the finding??
You can post further on this portal. Ask your father to provided full details of lung findings.
Thanks
