What Effect Does Taking Heroin Has On The Offspring's?

i am a single mother, pregnant with my second child.. i am wondering if my exs useing habits that ibwas oblivious too could be genetically passed through his spern to my daughters? he was a closet heroin addict?? could it have affected his genes to contribute too my daughters daughters behavior??

Hi,

Heroin abuse in the father cannot be genetically passed to the baby. But please keep in mind that one's temperament does have some basis in heredity. And certain temperamental characteristics predispose one to substance abuse. Thus, your child maybe affected in this manner. However, I do not think you need to worry about this now. Try to provide a healthy environment to the child so that it grows into a stable human being.
