What Does Yellow Discharge And Closed Cervix At 40 Weeks Pregnancy Indicate?

hi,how r u?i am 40 weeks preg tomorrow.since few days checked my cervix,its quite open,i could insert 3 fingers,and could even feel the amniotic sac.but now when i checked,the cervix feels a bit closed up,as also getting somuch yellow thick discharge.thank u

Dear member,
Thanks for writing .
I would not recommend that you check your cervix yourself as you may introduce infection to your baby and into your uterus though I don't think you can insert your finger so high up.
The cervical exam has to be a sterile process with clean gloves and antiseptic solution.
The discharge may indicate that now labor may be imminent.
Please consult your doctor or midwife .
