What Does Vomiting Along With Appetite Loss And Headaches Indicate?

my son is 17. HE has been sick for 7 weeks now. Symptoms include weightloss (24 lbs in 7 weeks), vomiting about once a day, loss of appetite, headaches and severe fatigue. We had a stay in the hospital that concluded he had a swollen spleen and a elevated bilirubin count. Liver was fine, mono test negative, hepatitis negative, cbc good, hida scan showed ejection fraction at 37% . My son is extremely sick and no answers so far except for Gilberts disease. He is scheduled for a colonoscopy and a scope tomorrow. Any one ever heard of this?

Hi,

Gilbert Syndrome is a common, harmless genetic condition in which a liver enzyme essential to the disposal of bilirubin (the chemical that results from the normal breakdown of hemoglobin from red blood cells) is abnormal.

It is the result of a genetic mutation. The level of total bilirubin is often further increased if the blood sample is taken after fasting for 2 days, and a fast can, therefore, be useful diagnostically. Tests can also detect DNA mutations.

There is no need for treatment, and the prognosis (outlook) is excellent.

Hope you are satisfied with the answer.

Regards,
