What Does This Ultrasound Report During Pregnancy Indicate?

hihi, I am 6 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I have just done a quick transadominal ultrasound at GP and seen a gestation sac only. there seems to be a very faint feutus image. may I know if this is normal? should I seek a second opinion from a gynae tomorrow as the scan at GP does not have device to hear the heartbeat and etc.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello , it's good that you got a scan done it shows a gestational sac and a faint foetal image, a trans-abdominal ultrasound is not very good scan for checking a pregnancy , I would advise you to book an appointment with an obstetrician soon and get an ultrasound obstetrics for fetal viability and also arrange for regular antenatal clinic visits, I hope you are taking your iron and folic acid supplements if not do ask your doctor about them. there isn't anything to worry at this stage but it's always good to be alert , so go and see a obstetrician ( gynaecologist) , if anymore queries am always here to help , you can get back to me anytime, take care and keep healthy.
