What Does This Symptoms Indicate?

I am a 38 F who has had ovarian cysts for years with surgery scheduled 2 years ago for suspicious cyst that resolved w/out surgery. Lately, I am experiencing worrying symptoms: lower abd pain & aching (L cyst confirmed on CT scan) esp on L. side, heavy feeling in lungs-tightness on inhale, bad fatigue, persistant gas which is painful, obstipation, abdominal distention and what feels and looks like a waterbed on enlarged stomach, and the most recent and unexplainable symptom - sore upper thighs every day. Should I consider a laparoscopy for a definitive rule-out of possible worrisome diagnosis? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
After reading your query I would recommend these measures , may help you.
The main problem is cyst ( confirmed on CT scan ) , so for this I would advise you , take birth control pills .
Cysts are often caused by hormone changes. Using birth control pills can sometimes help regulate hormone levels so that cysts can be taken care of . Your gynae will likely want you ( after treatment advise ) you come back after you have been on the birth pills to see if the cysts are gone( is gone , if one ).
If cyst is gone and there is no medical concerns , she will stop treatment .
But few doctors also prescribe metformin for cysts.
Other symptoms may be due to tension caused by cysts .
But I would advise X ray chest for lungs findings.
While for stomach finding as these symptoms are severe so you may need drugs like pantaprazole-D twice in day on empty stomach as this will relieve all symptoms faced by you due to cyst.
In my opinion at present you should take medical treatment before any laproscopic surgery .
So first of all consult one more gynaecologist and get his opinion.
Good luck.
