What Does This Spinal X-ray Test Report Indicate?

my back has been hurting for a few weeks now and I am in severe pain. I had an xray done and these are the findings: Grade 1 anterior subluxation of L4 and L5. Disc space loss throughout, greatest over the T12-L3 level. Endplate spurring L1-L5. Facet sclerosis.Rotary dextroscoliotic curvature to the spine with probable left lateral wedging of the L1 and L2 vertebral bodies. Impression: multilevel degenerative changes, greatest over the upper lumbar spine. Grade 1 anterior subluxation of L4 and L5.Can you explain what this means please.

Hello,

As with history, it looks like you have got spondylolisthesis. During this condition, there is an anterior movement of the vertebral body due to injury to facet joints at the vertebral level.

As this may be compressing some of the nerve root passing close by and lead to pain.

Also it appears that there is degenerative changes at multilevel. Means there is aging of the bone and soft tissue.

Treatment will include medications for pain relief, vitamin D3, and physiotherapy.

Research suggests that physiotherapy is helpful in reducing pain and stabilizing the lumbar spine. Also strengthening of the muscle did the spine is advised.

In my clinical practice of over 12 years, most cases responded well to exercise.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
