What Does This Resting Heart Rate While Having Sarcoidosis In Lungs Indicate?

I am 33 years old, have a fairly active job and work out an average of 5-6 hours per week. I have sarcoidosis in the lungs and possibly the nervous system but that hasn t been confirmed yet. I have chronic pain as well as severe panic disorder for which I take medication. My resting heart rate is normally in the low 50s, is this ok or should I be concerned? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello ,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.com and thanks for sharing your concern with us.
Slow heart rate is a common finding in physically active people like athletes . If decreased heart rate is not accompanied with any symptom like lightheadedness , fainting , dizziness then its not a matter of concern and is normal . But if you have any symptom as mentioned then should consult your healthcare providers and get Holter monitoring done to ruleout any cardiac arrhythmia and heart block.
I wish you good health.
Best Regards
