What Does This Lumbosacral MRI Report Indicate?

Hello...i had my lumbosacral mri last june,findings are dessicated disc at level of L4/l5 & L5/S1.L4/l5 & L5/S1 -diffused discs bulges abutting the thecal sac.,presence of ligamemtum and facetal hypertrophy,mild spinal stenosis at l4/l5 and linear hyperintense signal at posrterior of both discs consistent with annular tear. Impresion: Lower lumbar spondylosis with mild stenosis at l4/l5 i was suggested by orthopedic specialist to have discectomy..please give me an opinion related this is it i have to agree or not...if i m not agree what will happen to me in future.I got severe back pain and numbness at lower limb side and also having urine incontinence..

Hi,

The disc protrusion between L4 and L5 and also L5 and S1 causes pressure on the nerve roots at these levels causing your symptoms. The presence of urinary incontinence especially goes in favor of surgery. You should go for it.
