General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Normal size of follicle at rupture is usually 20 to 25 mm with 16 to 18 mm is usually considered the minimum suitable size before rupture and egg release. 9 mm is very small and may explain the conception problem.

I will suggest you see a Gynecologist for evaluation and treatment. Most often, this treatment involves taking drug that will help stimulate the follicles to create a healthy egg. Clomid is a popular drug that is commonly used in these types of situations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mbuomboh Veranso
