What Does This Brain MRI Test Result In A Polio Affected Person Indicate?

What is mild chronic microvascular ischemic changes of the white matter with cerebral volume loss on a MRI? Also I had polio when I was in high school. I took Lipitor for 3 days & lost all my muscle strength in my legs. Got some back after 9 months of intense PT. A current doctor wants me to take Zetia. Is this like Lipitor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
1) MRI reports that there is some clot in a small vessel of the brain that has led to decrease in the brain volume.
2) Zetia is a medicine used for lowering blood cholesterol levels. It has same effect as that of lipitor but it belongs to a different group of drugs. You can use any one of them. Follow your physician's advice.
