hii.... my moms report.. usg pelvis tvs says she has thick endometrium {9mm} and bulky cervix with tiny nabothian cysts... last year an benign fibroid was detectd though its no longer mentioned.... wht does dis mean... is she at a risk of cancer?

1. An endometrium as thick as 9 mm at an age say above 45 (you havent mentioned your mother's age) is probably indicative of endometrial hyperplasia. If she is already post menopausal, a biopsy under gynecological survillence is needed as it would reveal the nature of hyperplasia in detail.
Not all hyperplasias need be precancerous.
2. Nabothian cysts are usually harmless representations of pent up cervical secretions. You need not worry for them
3. Once a fibroid is present, it will usually be stagnant for years. Though it is symptomatic mostly in reproductive years, still may cause symptoms depending on size. So you must get a repeat ultrasound depending on the size in the previous USG.
