What Does The Result Showing Cervix And A Biopsy In The Range 3 In The Scale Of 1 To 5 Mean?
I had my annual exam which came back normal. I was also texted for the HPV virus and came back positive. I had a scraping of my cervix (that came back fine) & a biopsy. He said on a scale from 1 to 5 (1 normal, 5 high), it came back at 3. What does that mean?

hi, cervical biopsy is taken in your case for screening of cervical cancer. if you have scale 1 it means no chance of cervical carcinoma. but you have scale 3 with hpv positive which is causative agent for cervical carcinoma. so you have intermediate chance. just go for regular checkup for early dection of of cervical carcinoma. so that you can go for surgery at an early stage.
