What Does The Report Say?

hi my girlfriend recently found a blister on her vagina after going to the doctors to see if it was herpes( she had a swab) it came back positive to vsv but negative to hv1 and hv2. But they gave little to no information on it. What exactly is it? Is it herpes? Does it transmit the same as herpes?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Varicella Zoster belongs to same family as herpes but they are slightly different organisms. Such infections can be contracted among the general population especially if there is a decrease in immunity. This may be controlled with medications and does not pose any serious health condition if she is otherwise asymptomatic.
