General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HCM.
This sudden severe pain (also involving back) suggests a stone in urinary tract, more likely in ureter.
Stone causes obstruction to urinary outflow & so smooth muscles in ureter contract excessively to overcome the obstruction, and so is the colicky pain.
Many such patients come in my clinic & I advise them ultrasound abdomen & pelvis, X-ray KUB, renal function tests, blood sugar & urine routine.
Treatment is done accordingly.
Hope this helps.
Wish you good health.
Thanks.
Regards.
