What Does Stabbing Pain In Knee Suggest?

I had an injury to my right knee and right shoulder. I am having an issue with my right knee for the past couple days. it feels like a pulled muscle, and when I stand up and try to walk its stabbing kind of pain and it also feels like the muscles are fixing to snap. My question is should I get it checked out?
