What Does Smear From Endocervix Shows Clusters Of Pallisading Endocervical Cells Mean?
HELLO DR. I WAS BLED WHEN I HAD INTERCOURSE WITH MY HUBBY, I HV BEEN TO MY DR.(GYN) SHE HAS RECOMMENDED TO UNDERGO PAP SMEAR TEST, I JUST GOT THE RESULT AND IT READ: SMEAR FROM ECTO CERVIX SHOWS SUPERFISCIAL INTERMEDIATE AND PARABASAL EPITHELIAL CELLS. FEW CELLS SHOWING MILD ALTERED NUCLEO CYSTO PLASMIC RATIO. FEW CLUSTERS OF ENDOCERVICAL CELLS ALSO SEEN. INFLAMMATORY CELLS PRESENT, CONSISTING OF POLYMORPHES AND LYMPHOCYTES. SUGGESTIVE OF INFLAMMATORY SMEAR WITH FEW DYSLARYOTIC CELLS.
SMEAR FROM ENDOCERVIX SHOWS CLUSTERS OF PALLISADING ENDOCERVICAL CELLS WITH DEGENERATIVE CHANGES. NO EVIDENCE OF ANY MALIGNAT CELLS. PL ADVICE WHAT DOES THIS REPORT MEANS
Hi! Welcome to HCM! Your pap smear result is negative for any malignant lesion, findings which are present are not related to cancer .degenerative changes and inflammatory cells generally indicate infection.cellular Changes, occur as a response to injury or inflammation. You can get a vaginal swab culture senstivity done and a course of antibiotics .mild increase in nucleocytoplasmic ratio may be due to infection or any premalignant condition.therefore a repeat smear will be required after a course of antibiotics. Take care!
