What Does Small Shadow Over The Heart In Ultra Sound Mean?
I had an ultra sound today and was told that there was a small shadow over the heart. I am wondering what this could be an indicator of. My Dr. said it was more likely then not nothing, but I still want to get some information. I am at 19weeks and am 30 years old if that makes a difference.
A small shadow over the heart at 19 weeks in itself is not much significant. It must be correlated with other findings to say that anything might be wrong. This can be said to be a soft marker and must be thought in detail in the light of other findings in rest of the scan parameters. At 30 years, there you are within the younger age group for any possible differences due to age. It is after 35 years age that the chances of any problems in your child are more likely to happen.
