What Does Right Gland-20mmx14x48mm And Left Gland - 15x13x40mm Suggest?
Hi, I'm 41 years old woman. I don't know whether i have problem with thyroid or not. I was consulted with the endocinologist doctor. My weight is on normal level, I feel well but on u/s examination one year ago I have: right gland size 20mmx14x48mm left gland size 15x13x40mm. Thyroid was homogeneous and on the left glan there were some cysts, diameter 2mm. I have had the second examination on thyroid - u/s two days ago. The result was: right gland: 17x14x28mm(APxRLxCC) left gland 12x15x29 mm. On the lower part of the left glan there is the lito - liquid change having diameter 4mm. On this left gland there are also 3 change echoless, which could be cysts. Could you comment my examination results? Is there anything to be worried about?
Your thyroid shows cystic changes. It can be colloid goiter with cystic change, simple cyst or rarely papillary carcinoma of thyroid. You should go for fine needle aspiration cytology once. It will give you exact diagnosis. Then take treatment accordingly.
