Welcome to Health care magic.

1.It could be hernia or mass lesion which is difficult to differentiate by an ultrasound.
2.In this case even before surgery a CT - computer tomography will help to diagnose the cause.
3.Could be some thing coming from the bone / rib or diaphragm.
4.A x-ray will give a over view of the pathology.
5.After all an FNAC - to confirm the cell type - before plan for surgery. Good luck.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
