What Does Redness In The Corners Of The Eyes Indicate?

The inner corner of my eye has been red now for 5 days . I have been applying a warm compress on it several times a day thinking it could be a stye . But it has not relieved it. I have some discomfort, itching and no discharge. What could it be ? Should I see a doctor about this?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,

It appears to be angular conjunctivitis which is generally allergic. Take tablet Levocetirizine in morning for ten-days.

You should consult eye doctor for examination and advice on treatment. The eye doctor can diagnose it, hot compression will not help but Epilation can be done. Clean it by sterile gauge and apply Neosporin ophthalmic eye ointment on lid margin.

All the precaution and treatment will help you and you will get relief. Apply Cromal eye drop two to three times daily. Epilation is to take out effected eye lash accumulated pus or secretion will come out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
