What Does Recurring Fever, Swollen Lymph Nodes With High LDH Mean?

Dear sir,i am from Pakistan.My father is a doctor specialist in pediatrics.Since 14th November 2010 fever started to come to my father and it was not stopping and recurring in every 6 to 18 hours till 3 January 2011.Fever used to come with shivering and there was also weight loss of 5 kg.The disease was not being diagnosed in our city and there was no response to antimalarial.There were 3 posterior survical lymph node.he was taken to Agha Khan Hospital in late December where a biopsy was done but there was no sign of malignancyr TB.but fever was still coming and stopped coming in january.The hospital diagnosed it as the Kikuchi's disease.but after 15 days fever again start to come and came for 7 days and stopped and there was some swelling of lymph nodes and the swelling regressed in 7 days..also LDH was very high....What is the disease?

well kikuchis disease is lymphadenopahty with fever that may mimic SLE and lymphoma. u must again repeat lymph node biopsy but from shaukat khanum lab . also do RF factor and ANA to exclude SLE because in SLE RF and ANA will be positive . ESR , CRP and LDH will b high in kikuchi and leucocytosis wil b there. tx is NASAIDS , Steroids

well kikuchis disease is lymphadenopahty with fever that may mimic SLE and lymphoma. u must again repeat lymph node biopsy but from shaukat khanum lab . also do RF factor and ANA to exclude SLE because in SLE RF and ANA will be positive . ESR , CRP and LDH will b high in kikuchi and leucocytosis wil b there. tx is NASAIDS , Steroids
