What Does Presence Of Hazy Infiltrates In Lower Chest Lobe Mean?
good day Doc... my partner underwent Chest Xray and has been found out with Right Basal Pneumonitis and has seen hazy infiltrates in the right lower lobe... what does it mean? is this contagious? how to cure this and how long? is this the early sign of Pulmonary Tuberculosis... im so worried about his xray result, kindly help me... tnx a lot Doc...!
Presence of hazy infiltrates is indicative of fluid in the tissues that are absorbing the X-rays. It could be pneumonia, pulmonary tuberculosis, COPD, etc.
Yes, it can be contagious. You need to get physically examined by a GP, get swab, sputum, blood & the required Imaging tests done.
Your treatment (3 months, 6 months, 9 months course) will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected. You will have to continue your follow up treatments.
Take homemade nutritious food, take adequate sleep & stay away from stress.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
