What Does Positive For Ischemia In ETT Tolerance Mean?
hi, i m 23, athletic and never any physical problem. my t-wave was inverted in ECG at III and aVF, so i was referred to do and ECHO and ETT. i d an echocardiogram and ETT the previous day. final report of ECHO was normal but mild (MVP?/AML) written in remarks. in ETT tolerence was good but +ve for ischemia. what does it mean?
ETT positive for ischemia means there is chance of blockages in the arteries of the heart.Inducible ischemia means an inadequate supply of oxygen (via blood flow) to the heart muscle occurring with physical or emotional stress. It suggests that there is demand-supply mismatch at high demand levels for blood supply to the heart. However, there are chances of false positive results. You need clinical examination by a cardiologist.Further, angiography should be done. Angiography will exactly assess the status of coronary arteries.
