What Does Nodular Hyperplasia Mean In The Following Report?

Had fine needle biopsy led by ultrasound this past Friday. Throat is still sore, hoarse voice, is this normal? (Had to do 7 passes total). Diagnosis is: Just diagnosed with benign thyroid nodule, shows follicular cells, colloid present, nodular hyperplasia. What does this mean?

Hi.
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your biopsy report.

I think you have done the biopsy to evaluate a swelling on your neck.
The above biopsy report says yor are having a harmless growth(nodules) in your thyroid gland. You don't need to worry regarding this because this is a benign(non cancerous) condition.
You are having sore throat and hoarseness of voice may be because of irritation caused by multiple needle insertion at the time of biopsy.
Consult an ENT specialistt or a general surgeon if hoarseness persist or if you develop difficulty in breathing or swallowing .

Wishing you good health.
Regards
Dr.Shinas Hussain
