What Does No Fetal Pole And No Free Fluid In Cul De Sac Shown In US Mean?
yesterday my ultrasound said I was 7 weeks 2 days pregnant and a intrauterine gestational sac with a small yolk sac but no fetal pole and some debris within a sac but no free fluid noted in the cul de sac. what those that mean to me? please help me you can imagine how confused I am at this moment my eyes fill with tears. M.T
Absence of fetal pole implies that the embryo is not developing. But at 7 weeks, its pretty early to call. Ultrasound results depend on the sonographer's expertise and the sensitivity of the machine.
So, for now, you do not need to worry. The ultrasound will be repeated in two weeks and am sure, everything will be alright.
Fluid in cul de sac usually implies a chronic infection depending on the nature of the fluid. It is a good thing you do not have fluid in your cul-de-sac.
