What Does My Thyroid Test Result Indicate?
I am a 57 yr old woman,i ve bin taking thyronorm,25 mcg since the past 3 yrs,but still i have all symptoms of hypothyrodism.my latest thyroid profile reads like this; T3:1.29ngm/ml T4:4.22ug/dl TSH:5.10ulu/ml Autoimmunity tests; Microsomal(TPO) antibodt titre serum;422 Thyroglobulin(ATA) :130.7 I d like to know whats happenin?do i have Hashimoto thyroditis? pls do reply.

I carefully read your report and do understand your situation.
By the result of your exams I can say that you have Hashimoto thyroiditis. High TSH level with positive antiTPO antibodies are elements that support this diagnosis.
TSH 5.7 is a bit high and I would recommend you to increase the dose of thyronorm, always if you do not have ischemic heart disease. Six weeks after increasing the dose, you have to check the TSH, which should be under 4 mUi/ml.
If the TSH is corrected and the symptoms persist than we can say that they are not due to hypothyroidism.
