What Does My Colonoscopy Report Indicate?
I recently had 2 polypectomies during a colonoscopy. The larger polyp was 16mm and considered precancerous adenomatos. I do not understand the difference measurements in cm and mm used. Can you explain? I am returning in a few weeks for removal of any remaining tissue which may have been left due to size. Should I have concerns of future problems? Was this an unusually large polyp? Please see larger polyp was 16 mm means 1.6 cm. As a rule polyp above 1 cm or 10 mm are considered big. As it has come out to be precancerous adenoma, you have to be careful in future. Usually colonoscopy is recommended as follow up every 5 years.
