Can Stool Test Detect Colonoscopy?
Hello, My husband went to a new doctor to get a prescription for a colonoscopy today. He is 55 year old. The doctor instead, recommended he take a stool test in place of the colonoscopy. He said it was as good as the colonoscopy. There wasn't an examination...just talking about history, etc. My question is, if a stool test just as good as a colonoscopy? Thank you Jennifer

Stool test and colonoscopy are different examination for different purposes. Stool test help to find out infections.
Colonoscopy is a procedure that enables an examiner (usually a gastroenterologist) to evaluate the inside of the colon (large intestine or large bowel).
